The one thing that has always been lacking in the electric vehicle (EV) segment is the fun, performance, and driver excitement that is still being provided by internal combustion vehicles. That being said, EV automakers are incorporating these elements, and one of them is Leapmotor, which has just unveiled images of the B05 Ultra variant.
The electric hatchback’s base variant was first unveiled during the IAA Mobility 2025, and in terms of design, it comes with frameless doors, 19-inch “Swift-Wing” alloy wheels, full-width taillights and headlights, and a low front-end grille. Meanwhile, the Ultra variant adds some aggressiveness through an aerodynamic package that includes a front splitter, a rear spoiler, and a redesigned rear bumper.
The Ultra variant also comes with black trims to enhance its aggressive stance. In terms of wheels, the Ultra variant retains the 19-inch wheels from the standard variant. Interior-wise, the company has yet to reveal any information about it, as the standard variant’s interior is also being kept a mystery for now. However, Senior Vice President of Leapmotor, Cao Li, has stated that the EV will have a sporty interior with “extensive suede-like materials.”
The hatchback is still built on Leapmotor’s LEAP 3.5 modular platform but has been tuned by Stellantis’s engineers to achieve a nearly perfect 50:50 weight distribution. While the standard B05 features a single-motor setup, the Ultra variant is expected to feature a dual-motor setup with an all-wheel drive configuration.
As of now, this is the information available about the Leapmotor B05 Ultra variant. More specifications can be expected during the full reveal. Additionally, the B05 is slated for a global debut, which may also include the Malaysian market, given that the automaker is planning CKD models and is strongly backed by Stellantis.
