Geely’s subsidiary, Zeekr, has expanded its line-up in China with the debut of its full-size plug-in hybrid SUV, the Zeekr 9X. This model was first unveiled during the Shanghai Auto Show and marks the first plug-in hybrid vehicle under the automaker’s banner. The SUV is available in four variants; Max, Ultra, Hyper, and Obsidian Black.
Design-wise, it features an upright grille with vertical chrome slats, complemented by large rectangular headlights. The SUV boasts a clean silhouette with sharp, defined side lines that accentuate its full-size proportions.

At the rear, it sports a distinctive lighting setup known as the “Ring Screen Star Diamond”, where the taillights incorporate 43,343 diamond-cut facets. Enhancing its visual appeal further are the “Side Wing Star Diamond Matrix” clusters, designed to echo the bold styling of the front grille.
Inside, the Zeekr 9X features a pair of 16-inch infotainment screens on the centre console. Buyers can also opt for a single 16-inch display instead, which comes with a price reduction. Complementing the setup is a massive 47-inch augmented reality head-up display, while rear passengers enjoy a 17-inch 3K ceiling-mounted display for entertainment. Additional highlights include an AI voice assistant named Eva and power-operated doors for added convenience.

Depending on the variants, the Zeekr 9X offers premium comfort features such as a folding table for the right-side second-row passenger, four-way lumbar support, and a 22-point massage function for both the first- and second-row seats. Each side window also comes with privacy sunshades, and the second-row seats can rotate up to 180 degrees, allowing for flexible cabin configurations.
In terms of performance, the Zeekr 9X features a 2.0-litre engine paired with two electric motors, producing a combined output of 660 kW. The top trim variant comes with a three-motor setup, increasing total output to 1,030 kW.

The 9X Max is equipped with a 55 kWh battery, offering up to 300 km of electric range under CLTC conditions. The car’s combined range in PHEV mode reaches 1,200 km, while the 0–100 km/h acceleration time is 3.9 seconds. Meanwhile, the Ultra and Hyper variants feature a larger 70 kWh battery, delivering 380 km of electric range and a total range of 1,250 km.
Since the Zeekr 9X is built on a 900V high-voltage system, it supports 6C charging technology, allowing the battery to recharge from 20% to 80% in just eight minutes and 21 seconds. Additionally, the battery can also be charged via the engine, replenishing from 30% to 80% in 90 minutes, even while driving on highways at speeds of up to 120 km/h.

In terms of pricing, the Max variant is priced at CNY 465,900 (~RM304,000), while the Ultra costs CNY 485,900 (~RM316,000). Meanwhile, the Hyper and Obsidian Black variants are priced at CNY 559,900 (~RM364,000) and CNY 599,900 (~RM390,000) respectively.
As of now, there is no information on the availability of the Zeekr 9X in global markets, including Malaysia. However, there is a strong possibility of the SUV making its debut locally, given the company’s growing reputation in the local market.
