Tesla has expanded its Malaysian line-up with the introduction of a new Long-Range Rear-Wheel Drive (LR-RWD) variant for the Model 3 Highland. The addition was made quietly on Tesla Malaysia’s official website, shortly after the brand’s recent round of updates for the local market.
While official details remain limited in the website, Paultan.org reports that the Malaysian-spec Model 3 LR-RWD mirrors the version sold in China. Equipped with a rear-mounted motor delivering 225 kW, the sedan accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 5.2 seconds and shares the same 201 km/h top speed as the RWD and Long-Range AWD models.

Power comes from an LG-sourced nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery with a capacity of 78.4 kWh, enabling a remarkable WLTP range of 750 km. Compared to other variants, this model offers the longest driving range – 90km more than the Long-Range All Wheel Drive variant.
Design-wise, the LR-RWD retains the Highland’s refreshed styling and colour palette. Notably, Stealth Grey is now the standard finish, replacing Pearl White Multi-Coat. Previously a RM7,500 option, Stealth Grey now comes at no extra cost, while Pearl White Multi-Coat is offered as a RM5,000 upgrade.

Customers can also opt for 19-inch Nova wheels, as well as a black-and-white interior trim (RM5,000) over the standard all-black cabin. For driver assistance, Enhanced Autopilot is available at RM16,000, while the Full Self-Driving Capability package is priced at RM32,000.
Now coming to the main point which is the price of the car. The LR-RWD Model 3 is priced at RM185,000, while it seems like the Model 3 line-up has also had it prices updated. The base variant now costs RM169,000, meanwhile, the Long-Range AWD and Performance AWD are priced at RM199,000 and RM220,000 respectively.

Compared to the previous pricings, the base variant has been reduced by RM12,000. The Long-Range AWD and Performance AWD on the other hand, is reduced by RM11,000 and RM22,000 respectively.
