Samsung has yet to say much about its upcoming tri-fold smartphone, beyond confirming that it exists. However, leaks have been abundant, and this time we have a few more animations showcasing the foldable’s interface. While most of them focus on the multitasking features on the so-called Galaxy Z Trifold, there is one other noteworthy detail seen in its camera app.
This animation shows a zoom option that goes all the way up to 100x, which is something that Samsung has yet to include in its foldables. For comparison, the recently launched Galaxy Z Fold7 sports a 3x telephoto zoom. It is worth noting that the company does have premium offerings that come with a periscope telephoto lens that can zoom up to 100x. So, this improvement may bring the company’s foldables closer to its regular flagships.
Of course, while a camera upgrade does sound exciting, there is not much one can infer from just a single short animation. This leak does not contain any information on the device’s cameras, although it has previously been speculated that the tri-fold will sport a 200MP main shooter.
As mentioned earlier, the leak also includes other animations. Some of these highlight the cover screen mirroring capabilities, which were already seen in a prior leak. Another animation demonstrates how calls can appear in a floating window. This window can be moved around, allowing the user to multitask while making or answering calls. Aside from that, the device seems to feature DeX support.
It goes without saying that these leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, as they do not originate from an official source. While there is no confirmed release date for the Galaxy Z Trifold yet, it is expected to launch either next month or in November. That said, it will only be available in certain regions, with Malaysia not being among them.
