Earlier in the year, Apple executives confirmed that they delayed Apple Intelligence, the tech giant’s own AI system based on Siri, as they are overhauling the virtual assistant with various capabilities. Though we don’t know the full extent of this overhaul, it was recently reported that the company has developed a ChatGPT-inspired app as a means of testing Siri’s new capabilities.
The report came from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who previously reported that the foldable iPhone looks like two iPhone airs joined together. According to Gurman, the tech giant is doing this as a means of catching up with the rest of the competition.
In his most recent report, the leakster claims that the app is focused on internal use only and is not meant for a public release. Currently, it is known as “Veritas”, and Apple employees are using it to test new Siri features faster.
So far, these features include searching personal information stored on the phone, such as emails and messages, and other related functions. It was also reported that Apple staff “can gather feedback on whether the chatbot format has value” through Veritas.

In addition to the app, the tech giant is also testing various things that involve AI, namely smart home devices. The company is also said to be adding more features to the HomePod speaker and Apple TV, and making a push into AI-based web search.
