During its keynote, Qualcomm announced that it was collaborating with gaming brand, Razer, to bring support for the latter’s Synapse app to Snapdragon laptops. Specifically, the new X2 Elite Series laptops.
“We are actively working with Qualcomm to bring Razer Synapse to Windows on Snapdragon, as part of the growing ecosystem that’s reshaping how gamers connect, customise, and compete,” Min Liang Tan, CEO of Razer said.

Since the advent of the X Elite series for laptop, Qualcomm has been taking baby steps in improving other aspects of its laptop processor – battery life is one of the key highlights of such laptops, but less so in other avenue at current, including gaming and supporting specific apps and programs. The latter, at the very least, has been getting better over time, but there’s still room for improvement, at least as far as Prism translation layer goes.
Getting back on point, Qualcomm says that its partnership with Razer will focus on getting the latter’s Synapse app to work as fuss-free as it can which, if we’re being honest, is a tall order, given how clunky the current state of the app is. For now, though, both parties are just going to focus on ensuring that it helps connect Razer’s peripherals to Snapdragon-powered laptops.
The partnership also opens up whispers to another point of speculation: Razer possibly preparing to launch a Snapdragon-powered Blade laptop. It wouldn’t be surprising, as it has created a thin and light without a discrete GPU in the past.
