Last month, a spy shot of a new variant of the Xiaomi YU7 was released online, revealing an extended version of the SUV undergoing tests. Similarly, a camouflaged YU7 has been spotted doing laps at the Nürburgring racetrack. It is hinted that this could be the YU7 GT, a high-performance version of the all-electric SUV, with an unveiling expected soon.
The prototype was wrapped in the same red and grey camouflage that was seen on its sibling, the YU7. Although there were not many design cues visible, some details could still be identified. These include wider fenders, a more muscular rear profile, and a lower, more aggressive stance compared to the standard YU7 SUV.

However, unofficial renderings based on spy shots offer a clearer picture of what the YU7 GT might look like. The SUV is shown with an aggressive front splitter, a ventilated bonnet, black wheel arch extensions, and racing-inspired alloy wheels. At the rear, the renderings highlight a prominent diffuser and a fixed rear wing, emphasising its motorsport-inspired design.
Performance-wise, the YU7 GT is rumoured to adopt the same powertrain as its sibling. If the rumours hold true, then we can expect an enhanced tri-motor setup that is said to deliver an output of over 1,000 horsepower. The SU7 Ultra has already demonstrated its capabilities by setting a new Nürburgring lap record for a production EV, and Xiaomi appears determined to achieve the same level of performance with the YU7 GT.

The current YU7 is offered in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations, across its three variants. The RWD variant is equipped with a 320 PS motor paired with a 96.3 kWh LFP battery, delivering a CLTC range of 835 km.
The AWD version features a dual-motor setup producing 496 PS, combined with the same 96.3 kWh LFP battery, offering a 770 km CLTC range. At the top of the line-up, the AWD Max comes with a larger 101.7 kWh NCM battery, a dual-motor system generating 690 PS, and a 760 km CLTC range.
