Now that Xiaomi has confirmed the presence of a second screen on its upcoming flagship phone lineup, the brand is wasting no time in highlighting some of the display’s features. A new teaser for the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max shows the different functionalities found on this so-called “Magic Back Screen”.
As one would probably expect, this screen can act as a viewfinder, allowing the user to take selfies with the device’s rear camera. While the brand already hinted at this capability in a previous teaser, this recent video shows the feature more clearly. Notably, there is a camera interface that the user can interact with to snap the photo.
Aside from the selfie-taking functionality, the screen is capable of running widgets. An example of this is a stopwatch. Additionally, the user can take calls and control music playback through this screen. Lastly, the display can be used to show information, such as ride status and flight details.
As for the specifications for the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max, the brand is still keeping those aspects under wraps at this point in time. The phones are expected to make their official debut in China this month, along with the base model.
