OPPO is gearing up to release its Find X9 series in China soon. As with any flagship smartphone lineup, one can always expect to see leaks ahead of the launch. This is evidenced by a post on Weibo detailing a Hasselblad camera kit for the Find X9 series. But while many leaks can be brushed off as speculation, OPPO itself has confirmed the existence of said camera kit.
In the initial post, the Weibo user shared a concept image of the imaging kit along with a few details. The accessory will apparently be the first photography kit in the industry to be designed by a camera brand. Aside from that, the kit will feature a magnetic grip, which the user describes as being “much more convenient than snap-on designs”. Finally, it will come with an external telephoto converter developed by Hasselblad.
This post was quoted by OPPO Product Manager Zhou Yibao, who explained that the company is indeed working on a photography kit for the Find X9 Pro. However, he stressed that the final product will differ from the design depicted in the concept image. In addition to this, he explained that the brand is also planning to release imaging accessories for the vanilla Find X9. However, it is unclear whether this will include external lenses.
Previously, a rumour suggested that the OPPO Find X9 Pro will feature a triple camera setup with only one telephoto lens. For comparison, its predecessor comes with four lenses, including a second telephoto unit. That said, the Find X9 Pro will supposedly offer better quality images due to its 200MP sensor and 3x zoom. The inclusion of an add-on imaging accessory will further enhance the device’s capabilities. It is uncertain whether the company will release the kit globally, though.
