After much waiting, Honda has launched its new fully electric Kei car, the N-ONE e. The small hatchback will be offered in two variants: e: G and e: L. Furthermore, the new hatchback is largely based on its combustion twin, the N-ONE, and according to the company, has inherited the DNA of the N360.
In terms of design, as reported earlier, the N-ONE e features a full-width black bar at the front fascia, complemented by circular LED headlights with rectangular projectors and circular daytime running lights. It also houses two charging ports: a Type 1 AC port (normal charging) and a CHAdeMO DC port (fast charging).

However, the latter charging port is available as standard on the e: L variant, while it remains optional on the e: G. Other design elements include rectangular taillights and 14-inch steel wheels.
The interior features a clean, modern design with a slim, flat-topped horizontal dashboard that enhances forward visibility. Square air vents and a mid-section shelf add both practicality and character, while Honda’s signature push-button gear selector highlights its EV identity.

For connectivity, the cabin comes standard with a 7-inch LCD instrument cluster. The e: L variant upgrades to a 9-inch infotainment system, while the e: G is equipped with a Bluetooth-compatible audio system. Both variants feature heated seats for the driver and front passenger, with the e: L further distinguished by a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
As for the powertrain, the small Kei EV seems to pack a punch. It features a single motor with 47 kW of power and 162 Nm of torque. Powering the motor is a 29.6 kWh battery that offers a WLTP range of 295 km, according to the automaker.

This battery pack has been made thinner to ensure it does not interfere with cabin space. Furthermore, Honda has also included a Single Pedal control system in the hatchback, which means the accelerator pedal works for both acceleration and braking.
In terms of safety, the Honda N-ONE e comes with front and side airbags as well as post-collision braking. Adding to its safety credentials is Honda Sensing, which includes Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Leading Vehicle Departure Notification, Pedestrian Collision Mitigation Steering, Road Departure Mitigation, Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Traffic Jam Following and more.

As for pricing, the Honda N-ONE e starts at JPY 2,699,400 (~RM77,078) for the e: L variant, while the e: G is priced at JPY 3,198,800 (~RM91,338). For now, the compact hatchback will be offered exclusively in Japan, with no announcements yet regarding availability in other markets.
