When it comes to product releases, DJI typically releases a brief teaser about the item a week before the official launch to generate some hype. However, it seems as though the company is eerily quiet about the new action camera Osmo Nano, a spiritual successor to the Action 2 camera, which was said to arrive later today.
With no formal announcement or any similar promotional material to speak of, a YouTuber instead took it upon himself and did a last-minute leak, revealing the action camera’s packaging. The original uploader, The Product Village, has since taken the video down at the time of writing. Igor Bogdanov has since re-uploaded the video in question to X, where the DJI item gained widespread attention.
Unfortunately, not much is known about the device. But, based on the revealed packaging, the DJI Osmo Nano will come with 128GB of built-in storage. Tech publication Notebookcheck speculates that, like prior action cameras, the Osmo Nano might come with several accessories.
Just a day before, Roland Quandt shared official product images of the Osmo Nano over on Bluesky. The images show how the camera’s modular design allows it to work both independently and with the included screen module attached. The pictures also suggest that the screen can still function even when separated from the camera component. Quandt also shared that the compact camera is light enough that it can be attached to the brim of a hat or to car windshield as a dashcam
Unlike the video, however, these images are still up on the platform. As a result of these two incidents, Notebookcheck speculates that the titular camera was slated for a 10 September launch. But that date has passed, so a new possible date may be alongside the previously leaked Mini 5 Pro on 16 September. As for when this camera will be available in stores, we’ll just have to wait until DJI issues an official statement.
