The facelifted Volvo XC60, which made its global debut in February this year, is now open for bookings in Malaysia. Just like its predecessor, the refreshed SUV is offered in two variants, though their names have been updated in line with Volvo’s revised naming system. The line-up consists of the B5 AWD Core (previously B5 AWD Plus) and the T8 AWD Ultra (previously T8 AWD Ultimate).
One of the changes that have been made to the facelifted model is the front fascia, which features a newly designed grille resembling that of the XC90. It also comes with Volvo’s iconic Thor’s Hammer daytime running lights and LED headlights. At the rear, the taillights have been given a darker shade. The facelifted SUV expands its colour options by adding Forest Lake and Aurora Silver. Additionally, it can also be acquired in Mulberry Red for the first time.
Interior-wise, the key change is the larger 11.2-inch Google built-in infotainment system that comes with new features, apps and over-the-air updates. It is powered by the Snapdragon Cockpit Platform and supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The SUV also comes with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, powered front seat with driver’s side memory function, powered panoramic sunroof and an eight-speaker system.
As for the higher variant, it gets a head-up display and a 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system. Additionally, the front passenger seat gains memory function, enhanced lumbar support and a powered cushion extension.
In terms of performance, both variants of the refreshed XC60 are powered by a 2.0-litre inline-four turbocharged engine. The B5 AWD Core comes with a mild hybrid system comprising a 48-volt battery and integrated starter generator (ISG). Together, it delivers an output of 263 PS and 390 Nm, completing the century sprint in 6.9 seconds.
The T8 AWD Ultra features a rear-mounted electric motor paired with the engine to deliver a combined output of 462 PS and 709 Nm. The range-topping variant accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds. This variant also gets air suspension, making the ride even smoother.

On pure electric power, it now offers up to 89 km of range (WLTP), an improvement over the previous 81 km, thanks to a larger battery with a nominal capacity of 19 kWh (up from 18.8 kWh). Both variants are equipped with a 71-litre fuel tank and are electronically limited to a top speed of 180 km/h, in line with Volvo’s safety initiative.
Talking about safety, the XC60 comes with driver assist features that include Pilot Assist, a 360-degree camera system, collision avoidance and mitigation, rear collision warning and avoidance, and many more. In terms of price, the SUV has an estimated price of RM333,888 for the B5 AWD Core, while the T8 AWD Ultra has an estimated price of RM367,888.
