Xiaomi has launched its newest budget smartphone in Malaysia, the Redmi 15C. The device is the successor to the Redmi 14C launched last year, and features a new design and a bigger battery.
The Redmi 15C sports a 6.9-inch LCD display with a 1,600 x 720 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, as well as a brightness of 500 nits. Additionally, it comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a microSD card slot. The phone is also rated IP64 for dust and splash resistance.
Like last year’s model, it packs a MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra chipset, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Keeping the lights on is a 6,000mAh battery with support for 33W wired charging. Aside from that, the battery supports up to 10W wired reverse charging. As for software, it runs Android 15 via Xiaomi HyperOS 2.
On the imaging end, it features a 50MP main camera and 2MP depth sensor on the back. Meanwhile, the front of the device is equipped with an 8MP selfie shooter. Both front and rear cameras are capable of 1080p video recording at 30fps.
The Redmi 15C comes in four colourways: Midnight Black, Mint Green, Moonlight Blue, and Twilight Orange. The entry-level phone is available for purchase at the brand’s physical stores, as well as online including Shopee and Lazada. Pricing starts at RM449 for the 6GB+128GB configuration. Meanwhile, the 8GB+256GB model retails for RM599.
