Samsung has announced new entries to its entry-level range of smartphones. These are the Galaxy A17 and A07, succeeding the A16 and A06 of last year. Both of these will be available in a couple of days, but as of now the South Korean tech giant has only revealed the price of the former.
Before we get into that, let’s go over what each has to offer. Both the Samsung Galaxy A17 and A07 come with a 6.7-inch 90Hz display, but their resolutions differ. Specifically, they are Full HD+ and HD+ respectively, with the former also getting a Super AMOLED panel while the latter gets a PLS LCD instead.
For their processors, the Samsung Galaxy A17 packs an Exynos 1330, while the A07 gets a MediaTek G99. This does mean that the former is 5G-capable, while the latter caps out at LTE connectivity. They do share a 5,000 mAh battery though, and this is paired with the usual 25W charging. Also shared is the IP54 rating.

For their cameras, the former comes with a 50MP main + 5MP wide-angle + 2MP macro combo, while the latter has only a 50MP main + 2MP depth sensor pair. In front, they get 13MP and 8MP cameras respectively. Samsung also promises six years of Android OS and security updates for both the Galaxy A17 and A07.
For what it’s worth, Samsung has said that the Galaxy A17 in the 8+128 configuration will cost RM899. Another config comes in 8+256, costing RM999 instead. Get these two by the aforementioned 30 September and you can get a RM100 discount off of both. A third configuration, 4GB + 128GB, was also mentioned, but with no price attached.
Similarly, Samsung also listed a Galaxy 07 with 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB configurations, but without their prices attached. As an aside, the company also says that there will be an LTE model of the Galaxy A17 coming on 26 September.

Both of these phones will be available for purchase starting 5 September. Between then and 30 September, the brand is also offering additional benefits, like a free one-year extended warranty and a 25W charging brick. That being said, at the time of writing, the company was not clear on what sort of memory and storage configurations the phones are available in.
Finally, Samsung also snuck in the Galaxy Buds Core into the announcement. This is being offered at a discounted rate of RM139 if you also buy any of the aforementioned phones. Otherwise it will be priced at RM199.

Previously seen via its support documents, the Samsung Galaxy Buds Core has a battery life of up to 35 hours without ANC, or up to 20 with. Connectivity is done via Bluetooth 5.4, but supported codecs are limited to AAC and SBC. For what it’s worth, it does get an IP54 rating.
