AKASO has introduced yet another product for the Malaysian market, barely a week after the debut of its Keychain 2 action camera. The device in question is its SnapX lightweight pocket-sized camera that’s designed for hands-free recording and content creation.
The AKASO SnapX bears resemblance to the earlier Insta360 Go cameras, consisting of a detachable main unit and an “Action Pod” charging case. The former is said to weigh at just 36 grams and can be clipped, mounted, or handheld. It also carries an IPX7 waterproof rating, allowing it to withstand splashes and rain.
The SnapX is able to record up to 4K video at 60 frames per second and supports features such as time lapse, slow motion, hyperlapse, and night mode. For still images, it offers up to 20MP resolution with RAW support. Vertical shooting is also available, catering to social media content formats. To keep footage stable, the camera incorporates a 6-axis gyroscope for image stabilization.
Power comes from a 450mAh battery that supports up to 110 minutes of recording at 1080p, while the optional Action Pod accessory extends runtime to six hours. Additionally, storage is handled by built-in 64GB memory, with 2.4GHz wireless transfer included for quicker sharing across devices. The SnapX also doubles as a webcam, with support for up to 4K video at 30fps.
The SnapX is priced at RM1,299 and is available through the brand’s official stores on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop. Included together with the camera is a Type-C cable, Magnet Pendant, vertical frame, horizontal frame, and an Easy Clip. AKASO adds that a limited-time voucher offering RM100 off the purchase price is available until 30 September 2025.
