The rise of electric vehicles in the automotive industry has opened the doors for new players such as Xiaomi to enter the market. Now, joining the wave is Dreame Technology, the robot vacuum maker, as per its announcement on 28 August.
The company revealed that its first model, scheduled to debut in 2027, will be an all-electric hypercar. In a bold statement, Dreame added that this upcoming hypercar is designed to be a direct rival to the legendary Bugatti Veyron.

The company, which was founded in 2017, has built a reputation with its robotic vacuums and mops, cordless stick vacuums, wet and dry vacuums, and high-speed hair dryers. It has also built a 200,000 RPM digital motor which is featured in the company’s flagship Z50 Station vacuum cleaner, and according to Car News China, will be powering its first EV hypercar.
According to Dreame, the upcoming hypercar will feature an AI companion system capable of learning and adapting to the driver’s habits, preferences, and even emotional states. Its advanced voice interaction technology is said to go beyond traditional mechanical responses, recreating familiar voice characteristics with emotional nuances that closely resemble human conversation.

The vehicle will also seamlessly integrate with users’ smart home ecosystems and mobile devices, extending Dreame’s expertise in connected living into the automotive space. To bring this ambitious project to life, the company has assembled a team of 1,000 specialists, with plans to expand further while committing to long-term investments in the automotive industry.
At present, Dreame has yet to disclose additional details about its first EV model. Still, its bold ambition to create a hypercar positioned as a true rival to the Bugatti Veyron is striking.

For context, the Bugatti Veyron is powered by an 8.0-litre W16 engine paired with four turbochargers, producing 1,200 PS in its latest iteration. Power is delivered through a dual-clutch gearbox, enabling the Veyron to reach a top speed of 407 km/h and accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds.
But the Veyron is more than just raw speed and performance, it is regarded as an engineering masterpiece, built entirely from the ground up. The hypercar embodies a perfect blend of luxury, aerodynamics, balance, and performance in a single package. With that in mind, Dreame Technology faces a monumental challenge if it is to stay true to its bold claim of creating a hypercar worthy of standing toe-to-toe with the Veyron.

The robot vacuum maker’s entry into the EV market may sound like it’s coming out of left field, but it wouldn’t be the first. Dyson, another brand better known for home appliances, had similar ambitions, though its EV project never came to fruition. At the very least, it did reveal what its car would have looked like.
