Samsung is preparing to launch its first tri-fold smartphone, which will reportedly be called the Galaxy Z Trifold. As is typical for any long-awaited device, there is an abundance of rumours and leaks. A recent one sheds light on more of the foldable’s features.
X user @TechHighest shared a few animations depicting the phone. While the user did not offer any indication on the source of these animations, it’s likely that these were found in the One UI software. Aside from showing the phone’s design, the videos highlight the wireless interactions such as the charging and NFC payment functions.
Based on one of the animations, the Galaxy Z Trifold will come with support for wireless charging. The foldable’s built-in charging coils are apparently situated on the rightmost side. That is, when the screen is facing the user.
Another video in the post showcases the reverse wireless charging function, which lets the foldable act as a charger for other electronics. This indicates that the tri-fold smartphone will come with the feature, much like the other Samsung flagship devices.

Finally, the last clip shows how the user can make NFC payments with the Galaxy Z Trifold. Here, the device is depicted in its unfolded state. This does line up with a previous leak showing the same functionality.
Of course, as per usual with these leaks, some scepticism is warranted as they do not originate from an official source. We’ll just have to wait until Samsung decides to spill the beans.
