Huawei is set to announce the Mate XTs, its second tri-fold smartphone, by next week in China. According to its post on Chinese social media platform Weibo, the successor to last year’s model is set to debut on 4 September at 2:30pm.
Separately, Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO Richard Yu also shared a short teaser video for the device on the platform. Shown in the clip is a glimpse of the Mate XTs, which sports the same size as its predecessor, but with what appears to be a thinner profile. The white colourway with gold accents is also new.
Specifications-wise, rumors suggest that the Huawei Mate XTs come with an upgraded chipset, likely the Kirin 9020 with satellite connectivity. It is also expected to feature a new 50MP main camera with variable aperture as well as an updated periscope telephoto lens. Meanwhile, the phone’s battery is said to retain its predecessor’s 5,600mAh capacity.
Leaks also suggest that the newer tri-fold’s pricing will retail at CNY20,000 (~RM11,840), which is the same as Mate XT when it launched in China last year. For your reference, the preceding model debuted at RM14,999 in Malaysia earlier in February 2025.

As usual, we’ll only find out whether the rumoured information surrounding the upcoming Mate XTs are actually accurate upon Huawei’s official announcement. For that, we’ll have to wait for Thursday next week.
