The Ministry of Transport Malaysia received a fleet of electric vehicles (EVs) from PRO-NET, the distributor of Proton eMAS and smart Malaysia vehicles. This event took place today (26 August) at the MOT headquarters in Putrajaya.
The purpose of the event is to give government stakeholders a chance to experience the EVs first-hand and explore the performance, range and potential of the vehicles and their technology. The fleet of EVs handed over includes the Proton eMAS 7, Smart #1 and Smart #3.

This initiative from PRO-NET demonstrates its commitment to the Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint (LCMB) 2021–2030 and its support for the country’s transition to sustainable transportation. According to the company, this will also help decision-makers gain a clearer understanding of the benefits and challenges of EV adoption, which in turn will pave the way for the development of effective policies, infrastructure planning and long-term strategies.
“This collaboration exemplifies our commitment to driving Malaysia’s transition towards sustainable mobility,” said CEO of PRO-NET, Mr Zhang Qiang. “By empowering government agencies with first-hand experience of Proton e.MAS and smart vehicles, we are fostering a deeper understanding and readiness for the electrified future.”
Just to recap, the Proton eMAS 7 comes with a front-mounted motor producing 218PS with a top speed of 175km/h. The Smart #1 also has a single-motor set-up that delivers 275PS, while the Smart #3, which debuted at the last year, has a rear mounted motor with 272PS an 343Nm of torque.
