Google is once again broadening its AI reach, as the company has just announced it will be upgrading its AI Mode in Search to receive new agentic features. Furthermore, folks in over 180 new countries – including Malaysia – will soon be able to enjoy this AI feature in their respective native tongues as it expands to more languages and regions.
The multinational corporation is improving the functionality of its AI Mode, letting users speak their mind and “get things done”. One of these features is letting users find restaurant reservations in their local language. Google’s AI will then ask you the group size, date, location, and preferred cuisine. After a while, it pulls all the relevant results from across the web that match your description.

A list of recommendations will appear alongside these results in list format, along with a link to the booking page. Google is also partnering up with third-party ticket sales and distribution companies, such as Ticketmaster and StubHub, to name a few, as it plans to add local service appointments as well as event ticketing capabilities soon.
When asked to locate a restaurant, AI Mode makes use of Google’s web-browsing AI agent Project Mariner, its direct partners on Search, and tools like Knowledge Graph and Google Maps. Furthermore, Google is partnering up with companies like Resy, Tock, and OpenTable to include as many restaurants as possible and expedite the booking process.

In its current form, this feature can be accessed through its Labs platform but is exclusive to those who subscribed to the Google AI Ultra plan in the US. Not that if you do decide to opt in, the AI can remember your previous conversations and searches, which might match results to your preferences.

Additionally, if you want to share your conversations with the AI for any reason, Google is now letting you bring others in with the “Share” button and let select contacts discuss with the AI alongside you. This added feature is there to help groups plan out their dates and events. The original sender also has the option to delete shared links at any time.
