The facelifted 2025 BYD Seal EV has officially made its debut in Malaysia today. Unlike its earlier debut in Singapore, the line-up for the Malaysian market does not include the Dynamic variant but still retains the Premium (Extended Range) and Performance (AWD).
In terms of design, it is still the same sedan as when it was launched back in 2024, with the only updates being the new 19-inch alloy wheels and a larger 53-litre frunk. The updated Seal still features the company’s e-platform 3.0, with dimensions of 4,800 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width and 1,460 mm in height, along with a 2,920 mm wheelbase.

Inside, the treatment remains largely the same, though a few updates have been introduced. These include a powered sunshade for the panoramic sunroof and a new sunglasses holder, while a mobile phone-based Bluetooth key has been added to complement the existing NFC key card for vehicle access. Other than that, it has the same 15.6-inch infotainment system, 10.25-inch instrument cluster and the same upholstery as its predecessor.
As for performance, there are no changes here, as the Premium comes with a rear-mounted motor producing 313 PS and 360 Nm of torque, while the Performance variant features a dual-motor setup producing 530 PS and 670 Nm. Furthermore, both variants are equipped with an 82.56 kWh battery offering a WLTP range of 570 km and 520 km respectively.

BYD reveals that there are some updates to the car’s suspension. The Performance variant has moved up from its previous Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) system to an adaptive DiSus-C continuous damping control system, while the Premium variant now benefits from the FSD suspension as an upgrade.
In terms of charging, both variants support 150 kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to go from 30% to 80% in just 32 minutes. They also support 7 kW AC charging, which takes around 15.2 hours for a full charge. As before, the Seal is equipped with a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function and comes supplied with a V2L discharge adapter.

The BYD Seal continues to offer a comprehensive suite of ADAS features, including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane departure warning and prevention, lane keeping assist, as well as front and rear cross-traffic alert with braking, and high beam assist. On top of that, it comes equipped with nine airbags and a high-resolution 360-degree camera.
Now, coming to the price of the car, the BYD Seal Premium is priced at RM171,800, while the Performance trim comes in at RM191,800. Compared to the pre-facelift model, both variants are RM8,000 cheaper.

Additionally, the sedan is backed by a six-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty, an eight-year/160,000 km battery warranty, and an eight-year/150,000 km drive unit warranty. As part of the launch campaign, the first 300 customers will also receive a promotion package worth up to RM10,888, which includes a wall charger, service package and a special launch rebate.
