In commemoration of the brand’s 30th anniversary in the business, ASUS launched a limited edition ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090 at Gamescom 2025. And yes, the card really does have a rounded end.
Specs-wise, the ROG Matrix is an RTX 5090 by nature, featuring 32GB GDDR7 graphics memory, along with a boost and OC mode of 2,580MHz and 2,610MHz, respectively. Everything else, from the 21,760 CUDA cores to the 3,593 TOPS AI Performance, remains the same.

Where the ROG Matrix RTX 5090 differs is in its design. Firstly, it features bright red accents all around. Second, and like ASUS’ ROG Astral Edition cards, it has four Axial Tech fans – three on the front, and a fourth at the back that runs in the pull configuration.
At the edge of the ROG Matrix RTX 5090 is an LED “Matrix” signage that is customisable through Aura Sync. beneath the hood, the card uses a patented vapour chamber and liquid metal for cooling, and more specifically, it uses copper cooling.

Another difference is the BTF Graphics Card High-Power Adapter. It’s an optional attachment and slots into the bottom of the card that basically allows the ROG Matrix RTX 5090 to draw power directly from the motherboard, allthough you will require a BTF-specific motherboard from ASUS.
To be clear, the card does still have the standard 12VHPWR connector at the spine, but users with the appropriate BTF motherboard can draw up to 800W through both power connectors. That, in turn, has led to ASUS creating a special “800W mode”, allowing the card to hit 2,730MHz in said mode.
Now comes the bad news. If you’re planning on getting the ROG Matrix RTX 5090, there’s only going to be 1,000 units made. At the time of writing, ASUS has yet to announce pricing or availability.
