BYD Malaysia is debuting the facelifted BYD Seal in Malaysia on 22 August 2025. This announcement was made by the company on its social media platform. According to the Facebook post, the sedan will be available in BYD showrooms nationwide.

However, there is not much information provided on the specifications of the model that will be available in the Malaysian market. Nevertheless,  taking reference from the model that has launched in Singapore, we can expect new alloy wheel designs and an electrically operated roof sunshade. Another enhancement includes the 53-litre frunk compared to the 50-litre frunk of the current model.

Just like before, the facelifted Seal also comes in three variants: Dynamic, Premium, and Performance. The Dynamic variant comes with a single rear-mounted motor with 136 PS and 310 Nm torque, while the Premium comes with a rear-mounted motor with 313 PS and 360 Nm of torque. At the top of the line is the Performance variant, which features a dual-motor setup making the Seal an all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle. The dual-motor setup delivers 530 PS and 670 Nm of torque.

In terms of battery, the Dynamic variant is equipped with a 61.44 kWh battery while the Premium and Performance feature a larger 82.56 kWh battery. The BYD Seal offers a WLTP range of 460 km, 570 km and 520 km respectively. In terms of charging, the base variant can juice up from 30% to 80% in just 32 minutes with a 110 kW DC charger, while the other two supports 150kW DC charging.

As mentioned, these are the specs of the facelifted BYD Seal in Singapore, which may or may not translate as it when it arrives in Malaysia. In terms of pricing, as usual, the automaker is being tight-lipped about it. Nevertheless, as a reference, the sedan currently has a starting price of RM163,000. Will the price be higher or lower? We will know the answer to that question in another two days.
