Yadea Malaysia expands its electric scooter line-up in Malaysia with the unveiling RS20, just after launching the Velax last week. The e-scooter was introduced in conjunction with the opening of the MForce SmartShop in Banting, which is also the 18th shop to be opened nationwide.
The Yadea RS20 adopts a classic scooter design, measuring 1,820mm in length, 666 mm in width, and 1,130–1,290mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,298mm and a ground clearance of 180mm. At the front, it sports a diamond-shaped headlight capable of illuminating up to 70-metres, complemented by LED taillights that is incorporated in the logo of the company and signal lights that is given a ‘J’ like design.
Key highlights include an IPX7 waterproof rating with a 300mm wading depth and a fully enclosed chassis design for enhanced durability. The RS20 is also equipped with a digital instrument cluster, a front storage compartment, under-seat storage, a rear rack, and USB Type-A charging ports. Rounding out its practicality are 12-inch front and rear tyres that ensure a stable and comfortable ride.
In terms of powertrain, the RS20 features a 2,450W wheel-hub motor producing a top speed of 51 km/h and 107 Nm of torque. The motor is powered by a Graphene 72V22Ah battery that is claimed to offer an estimated 105 km on a full charge. Talking about charging, the e-scooter takes six hours to charge from 0% to 80% while a full charge can take up to 8 hours.

The Yadea RS20 can be ridden in two modes: Sport and Eco, and it also has a reverse gear function. Additionally, it comes with a telescopic fork front suspension and dual rear shock absorbers for comfort, performance and safety. Adding to the safety features are the front disc brake and rear drum brake, which are equipped with CBS (Combined Braking System), as well as the side stand safety switch.
Besides that, the RS20 can be seamlessly paired with your Yadea EV bike by simply scanning its unique QR code through the Yadea App, available on both iOS and Android. Once connected, you can conveniently unlock your bike using your smartphone. It also supports three unlocking methods, which are mechanical key, remote control, and the Yadea App.
The Yadea RS20 is priced at RM4,998 (excluding road tax and insurance) and will soon be eligible for the MARiiCas rebate. Each purchase comes with a two-year manufacturer warranty or coverage of up to 20,000km, whichever comes first.
