If there’s one type of gaming peripheral that people most associate with the HyperX name, chances are it’s gaming headsets. The now HP-owned brand has announced two more, plus two microphones aimed at the streamer and podcast market. Headlining the bunch though is the Cloud Alpha 2 wireless headset.
Why is it the highlight of the batch? One reason is due to its 250-hour battery life, though this is specifically when using it in its 2.4Ghz mode. You can simultaneously use it and Bluetooth connectivity, but naturally this will cut into the impressive battery life.
Other bits of info on the HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 include 53mm dual-chamber drivers, and a Base Station with reprogrammable RGB lighting. And, increasingly rare these days, support for 3.5mm connectivity. Interestingly, while it does have a 10mm boom mic, it’s also described as having internal mics, but it’s unclear if they differ greatly in function.
The other gaming headset announced is the HyperX Cloud Flight 2, which features its own impressive 150-hour battery life. This comes with 50mm drivers, but what makes this pair of headphones stand out is that it allows for a lot of external components to be swapped out easily. From the ear cups to their back plates, and even the headband pad. This allows for not only customisability, but also easy replacements for when each part goes wrong.

For the two mics, you have the HyperX SoloCast 2 and the FlipCast. The key difference between the two is that the former connects only via USB, while the latter also takes XLR input. The former has its own attached stand, so you can use it as is immediately out of the box. The latter comes with a universal mic mount, but it looks like you’ll need to figure out the stand or arm on your own.

Going in order, HyperX has priced the Cloud Alpha 2 at US$299.99 (~RM1,266). The Cloud Flight 2 costs either US$129.99 (~RM548), or US$139.99 (~RM591) for Xbox specifically. For the mics, the SoloCast 2 costs US$59.99 (~RM253), while the FlipCast costs US$229.99 (~RM970). No word on a local release at the moment.
