Following the announcement last month, DJI has released its first robot vacuum, the DJI Romo. The Romo sets itself apart from other robot vacuums by incorporating the company’s expertise in drone technology into its design.
To start off, the Romo features a binocular fisheye vision system and three wide-angle solid-state laser radars. This allows the Romo to navigate its environment with ease as it can detect thin obstructions such as charging cables. According to the brand, the system can recognise objects as thin as 2mm.

In terms of specs, the Romo gets 25,000 Pa of suction and dual roller brushes for preventing hair tangles. Aside from that, it comes with a set of flexible robotic arms that serve to get into tight corners and spaces. The robot vacuum is also equipped with a 164ml tank.
There are three variants of the DJI Romo, all of which feature slight differences in design. The Romo S sports an all-white opaque body and charging station. Meanwhile, the Romo A features a translucent cover, but is otherwise visually similar to the Romo S. The Romo P has the most distinct look out of all the models, with an all-transparent design showcasing the device’s internals.

The cheapest model is the Romo S at CNY4,699 (~RM2,776). The Romo A retails for CNY5,399 (~RM3189), while the Romo P is priced at CNY6,799 (~RM4017). At the moment, all variants of the DJI Romo are only available in China, but the brand has confirmed that it intends to bring the robot vacuum to the global market.
