Following the successful launch of the Pova 7 4G, Tenco Malaysia has revealed that its 5G and the Ultra variation are coming to Malaysia on 8 August. Outside of the digit and name change, the brand boasts that these upcoming handhelds will now include wireless charging as well as other interesting upgrades.

Much like the 4G, the Pova 7 5G shares the same 6.78-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ (1,080 x 2,460 px) resolution, with the same peak brightness of 900 nits. It also has a stereo speaker and an IP64 dust and water resistance. The major changes that happened externally to the phone are the refresh rate and fingerprint scanner; the 5G is capable of outputting up to 144Hz but loses the scanner altogether.

Internally, the Pova 7 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chipset, with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The device still has the 45W fast charging but now features a 6,000mAh battery, which is a downgrade compared to the 7,000mAh advertised on the 4G. Users can take solace in the fact that this variant is capable of 30W wireless charging. In terms of software, the handheld is running on Tecno’s HiOS 15, which is based on Android 15.

For the camera, the Pova 7 5G is rocking a 50MP main shooter and a depth camera with an undisclosed sensor, along with the Delta Light system and dual flash for the rear. The front has a 13MP selfie camera that’s hidden within a punch-hole cutout.

On the other hand, the Pova 7 Ultra 5G is sporting a smaller 6.67-inch screen, but on the flip side it’s a 144Hz AMOLED display with a 1,260 x 2,800 resolution that has a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. It is also reinforced with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. Outside of that, it comes with a stereo speaker, the return of the under-display fingerprint sensor, and an IP64 water and dust resistance.

Under the hood, the phone features a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate with 12GB of RAM and has a maximum of 256GB internal storage. The device still has a 6,000mAh battery that is capable of 70W Ultra Charge and 30W wireless charging. The device is still running on the in-house HiOS 15 UI.

For photography, the device is packing a robust 108MP main rear camera and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. The front sees an upgraded 13MP shooter, which is also neatly tucked away behind a punch-hole cutout.

The Pova 7 5G will be available in three different colourways, which are Geek Black, Magic Silver, and Oasis Green. On the other hand, the Pova 7 Ultra 5G will only have two colours: Geek White and Geek Black. Specifications for both phones are based on the spec sheet based on the international site of the series and may be subject to change when it arrives in Malaysia. Pricing starts at INR18,999 (~RM919) for the Pova 7 5G based on its Indian launch last month. With the Ultra yet to see an official launch, details on its pricing are to follow.
