It’s been a little more than half a year since NVIDIA launched its GeForce RTX 50 Series, and just a little more than two months since rumours of the RTX 50 Super Series began to spread. While many of us aren’t expecting said lineup to make its debut until sometime next year, there is a possibility now that it could show up before this year is through.
According to TweakTown, NVIDIA may be planning on launching the RTX 50 Super during Q4 2025, instead of an initial rumour of a CES 2026 launch.
Assuming that this is true, it would be the first time that NVIDIA is expediting the launch process for RTX 50 Super series GPU – the GPU brand typically releases an intergenerational update to its lineup about a year into the GPU generation’s lifecycle, such as the RTX 20 Super and RTX 40 Super series.
In this case, it might be safe to assume that the rumour came about because of the way NVIDIA launched its RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti cards; both came with the same 16GB of GDDR7 and in our review, they both performed pretty much in the ballpark.
To that end, one rumour that has persisted about the RTX 50 Super series is that NVIDIA is planning on increasing the memory capacity by 50% across the board, meaning that both the 5080 Super and 5070 Ti Super could ship out with 24GB GDDR7, while the 5070 Super will receive 18GB, as well as a 4% increase in its core count. Unfortunately, the rumours also say that NVIDIA will be increasing the TGP of each card, with the 5080 Super supposedly pulling 415W.
Once again, this is still just an unsubstantiated rumour, so you know what you do with that salt shaker.
