Samsung appears to be preparing a major shake-up for its flagship Galaxy S series in 2026, potentially doing away with the standard model and replacing it with a rebranded and more premium-focused lineup. According to findings within an internal One UI 8 build by Android Authority, the upcoming line-up will allegedly consist of the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra models.
If accurate, the Pro variant would now serve as the entry point for Samsung’s next-gen Galaxy S series, with the Edge taking over the mid-tier spot and the Ultra remaining as the top-tier flagship. This latest rumour also builds upon earlier reports suggesting that Samsung might replace the Galaxy S26+ with the aforementioned Edge variant.

Android Authority speculates that the renaming implies a more premium direction across the board and could also indicate higher prices, which is not entirely impossible. Regardless, such a strategy would mark a significant departure from Samsung’s current naming structure, which has maintained a fairly consistent format for several years.

That said, Samsung has yet to officially confirm any changes to its 2026 flagship lineup. While the software findings are compelling and appear to align with earlier tips, the final branding and model structure could still change ahead of launch. As always, its best to take such leaks with a pinch of salt just in case.
