Shortly after the global launch of the Huawei Pura 80 series, the brand confirmed that it would be bringing two of the models in the lineup to our shores. And just as promised, the Pura 80 Pro and the Pura 80 Ultra have made their local debut today.
To start off, the Pura 80 Pro features a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, with second-gen Kunlun Glass for protection. Moreover, it comes with an AI Smart Controls Button for easy access to functions like the camera, flashlight, and AI lens. The button also incorporates a fingerprint sensor for security. Also present is an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance.
The device features 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It is also equipped with a 5,170mAh battery with support for 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. For software, it runs on EMUI 15.0. Connectivity features include WiFi, Bluetooth, and NFC.
On the imaging side, the Pura 80 Pro packs a 1-inch 50MP main sensor, a 48MP telephoto lens with 4x zoom, and a 40MP ultra-wide unit. For the selfie enthusiasts, the front of the device comes with a 13MP shooter.
Moving on to the Pura 80 Ultra, it gets the same 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display, but with the added protection of second-gen Crystal Armor Kunlun Glass for better scratch and drop resistance. Like the Pro model, the Ultra variant sports the AI Smart Controls Button and an IP69 rating.
The device comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and is also equipped with a 5,170mAh battery with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. Naturally, it runs on EMUI 15.0 and comes with the same connectivity features as the Pura 80 Pro.
On the imaging side, the Pura 80 Ultra is equipped with a 1-inch 50MP main camera and a 40MP wide-angle lens. Of course, the highlight of the Pura 80 Ultra is its Switchable Dual Telephoto Camera system, which according to Huawei is the first in the industry. It combines a 50MP 3.7x medium telephoto and a 12.5MP 9.4x super telephoto lens in a single structure, allowing them to share a 1/1.28-inch sensor. As for the front camera, it uses the same 13MP unit featured on the Pro model.
The Huawei Pura 80 series is currently available for pre-order. The Pura 80 Pro is priced at RM4,599 and comes in three colourways: Glazed Red, Glazed White, and Glazed Black. Meanwhile, the Pura 80 Ultra has a retail price of RM6,599 and is offered in Prestige Gold and Golden Black.
