The Chinese marque, BYD, is slated to launch its Sealion 06 EV and DM-i in China tomorrow on 24 July 2025. The SUV was first unveiled during the Shanghai Auto Show 2025 and it is the first model under the company’s Ocean Series line-up.
Both variants share the same design language, starting with the closed front face and parallel headlights that give the car a face like a fish. At the rear, it comes with a full-width taillight and a roof spoiler.
In terms of the interior, it comes with a large floating screen for infotainment and another rectangular-shaped screen for the instrument cluster. Other features in the car include a refrigerator and wireless charging pads.

The EV variant is built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 Evo and comes with a choice between three powertrains. First is a single motor with an output of 170 kW powered by a 78.72 kWh Blade battery pack that offers a CLTC range of 605 km. Additionally, if you want more power, you can go with the 180 kW output motor paired with a 65.28 kWh battery and has a CLTC range of 605 km.
The EV SUV also comes in an all-wheel-drive configuration with front and rear motors producing 110 kW and 180 kW of power. It is paired with a 65.28 kWh or 78.72 kWh Blade battery pack and has a CLTC range of 520 km, 550 km and 605 km.

For the DM-i, which is a plug-in hybrid variant, it features a 1.5L engine with an output of 74 kW and an electric motor producing 160 kW. For the battery, there is a choice of the 18.3 kWh or 26.6 kWh Blade battery pack, with a pure electric range of 93 km and 130 km, respectively. Furthermore, both variants are equipped with the “God’s Eye” C advanced driving assistance system.
As for the price, it is expected to cost between CNY 160,000 (~RM 94,375) and CNY 200,000 (~RM 117,969). For now, there is no information about the car being available globally.
