The Lenovo Legion Go 2 isn’t officially available on the market, nor has it been announced by the brand itself, with its last appearance being at CES 2025. Despite all this, the console is reportedly being sold widely via a Chinese digital marketplace.
To be clear, the Legion Go 2 consoles that are being sold are prototypes. Word of its sales first appeared on Reddit from Redditor Worth_Spot, who claims that the units came from a manufacturing plant that bought the farm. The authenticity of this claim is sketchy, given that wholesalers in China have a tendency to use this tale as a way to promote their wares, with the “how” and “why” of the story varying from vendor to vendor.

Getting back on point, the Legion Go 2 prototypes were being sold on a second-hand platform known as Xianyu, which is popular for prototypes, engineering sample, and used hardware. One Bilibili user managed to get themselves a unit and to their credit, it actually worked.
A few things to note about this Legion Go 2 prototype in the video is that the unit dates back to December 2024, meaning it isn’t using the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme. It is possible that what we’re looking at is a Ryzen Z2 at best, or a console with a Z1 Extreme. Oh, and it seems to have 32GB LPDDR5-7500 RAM, which is double the capacity of the original Legion Go.

The rest of the hardware specifications include a Lenovo-made motherboard, a FHD+ RGB OLED 8.8-inch display from Samsung, which is definitely an improvement on the 1440p IPS panel of the original, a MediaTek Wi-Fi card. Battery-wise, it could be rocking a 74Wh battery, nearly double the capacity of the original Legion Go.
The controllers are still detachable, and the right controller can still be transformed into the vertical mouse or joystick mode, but it still isn’t clear if Lenovo has managed to solve the issue with the disappearing button inputs between mode switches.

Then there’s the weight of it, which is just shy a kilogram at 938g, making it one of the heaviest handhelds to date. For context, even the recently announced ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X weighs 715g.
As mentioned, Lenovo still has yet to make an official announcement on the Legion Go 2, but the company’s Latin American wing has claimed that the console will be launching this September.
