The name Nokia has certainly seen better days, especially in the mobile phone industry. Its licensing deal with HMD Global started winding down, but it looks like the Finnish company may be looking for something similar. Which does unfortunately means that it still won’t be making its own phones.
First spotted by Romanian site Mobilissimo was a Reddit post by an account that purports to be the Nokia Community Manager. The post itself is pretty innocuous – it’s basically the brand saying that it will be a participating in the platform a bit more actively.

But the important bit comes in the comment in the same post by the Community Manager. It reads “if you’re a large scale mobile manufacturer, and you’d like to explore collaboration opportunities, please reach out to us through one of these channels: https://www.nokia.com/partners/”
It’s not the most conventional of recruiting spaces, to be sure. And so far, the company has not yet made any announcement about having found a manufacturing partner to use the Nokia brand name. One would hope, whoever the partner ends up being, that the brand will be able to regain the heights of its heyday, so we can get more wacky designs like the N-Gage.
