HONOR recently launched its latest book-style foldable in Malaysia, the Magic V5. The new smartphone comes with an improved service policy offering after-sales care, which includes Worry-Free 1-Year Crack Protection and 2-Year Quality Assurance. This service policy is intended to cover issues pertaining to the device’s inner and outer screens.
The Worry-Free 1-Year Crack Protection plan covers damage to the screen caused by a drop, collision, or accidental pressure. Should the phone’s display sustain any damage from these sources, the user is entitled to one complimentary replacement for both external and internal screens with only a RM60 labour fee. Meanwhile, the Worry Free 2-Year Quality Assurance policy covers screen quality issues like green lines and water leaks.
According to the brand, the average cost for repairing a foldable’s inner screen is around RM2,600, while repairs for the outer display typically cost RM600. The company went on to explain that this service policy is meant to address consumer concerns regarding such high repair costs. Furthermore, its 14 service centres across the country are equipped to perform on-site foldable screen repairs.
The HONOR Magic V5 is currently available for pre-order until 24 July for RM6,999. Those pre-ordering the device will receive gifts worth up to RM3,497, which includes the Worry-Free 1-Year Crack Protection and 2-Year Quality Assurance, as well as a Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 9.
To recap, the phone features a 6.43-inch OLED cover display and a 7.95-inch internal screen. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage and is powered by a 5,820mAh battery.
For imaging, the phone is equipped with a 50MP main sensor, a 64MP telephoto lens, and a 50MP wide-angle camera. Both of the device’s front-facing cameras are 20MP units. The Magic V5 is available in four colour options: Ivory White, Dawn Gold, Silk Brown, and Black.
