The name AKASO is probably not the first that comes to your mind when you think of action cams. But the Chinese brand – with its HQ in the US – has announced that it is bringing in an action cam to the local market next week. It’s pretty straightforwardly named too, as it’s simply called the AKASO 360.
The name should be pretty self-explanatory. But beyond just having a 360-degree field of view, it takes pretty high-resolution clips and stills to go with it. As the company claims, videos go up to 5.7K, while stills go up to 72MP. All that being said, the company has not shared details on which sensor it is using for its action cam.

Other features that the AKASO 360 comes with include AI tracking, as well as horizon lock to keep clips level. Interfacing with the action cam is done via a 2.29-inch touchscreen. But once the shooting is done, there’s naturally an app for you to do the editing on your phone instead, and share them once you’re done.
For now, little else is known about the AKASO 360, but all should be revealed once the launch rolls around. As mentioned, that’s happening next week, or more specifically on 28 July.
