Rebadging existing products is a common practice for some brands, especially when certain models or collections are not immediately available in specific regions. In Casio’s case, the Fantastic Four: First Steps G-Shock series, which we’ve previously reported on, actually comprises four models taken from the Hidden Glow Vol. 2 collection. The good news is that this particular series has been available in Malaysia since June.
Casio’s G-Shock Hidden Glow Vol. 2 line-up offers the same GA-700HDS, GA-110HDS, GA-6900HDS and GA-2100HDS models, with exactly the same white and blue colour scheme as well as the glow-in-the-dark elements. The only difference is that all four models, obviously, lack the Fantastic Four themed packaging and merchandise that’s offered with the movie tie-in version.
The GA-700HDS is priced at RM555, the GA-110HDS at RM725, the DW-6900HDS (same watch, slightly different model name) at RM495, and the GA-2100HDS at RM595. Additionally, the Hidden Glow Vol. 2 line-up includes two variants of the 6900 and 2100 models, which offer the same designs but with inverted displays. Prices for both watches are the same as their regular counterparts.
It should be noted neither the Fantastic Four nor the Hidden Glow Vol. 2 series feature unique engravings on the back of all four models, so there’s no distinction between them. That said, you could technically pass off the watches from the latter line-up as the former, with the only difference being that you won’t be getting the unique Fantastic Four-themed packaging, artwork, and pin badges.
