The HONOR Magic V5 made its debut in China earlier this month, and now the brand has made its newest flagship phone available for the local market. Billed as one of the thinnest foldables available at the moment, the device is claimed to offer no compromise on features despite the slim form factor.
To start off, the Magic V5 measures either 8.8mm or 9mm when folded depending on the colour variant. Its weight also differs based on the colour chosen, with most versions weighing 222g, while the Ivory White model weighs 217g.
The phone features a 6.43-inch 1,060 x 2,376 OLED cover screen and a 7.95-inch 2,172 x 2,352 OLED inner display. Both panels have a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 5,000 nits. Additionally, the device has an IP58/IP59 rating for dust and water resistance.
For internals, the Magic V5 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Unlike the model released in China, the global version of the device is powered by a 5,820mAh battery with support for 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. It runs on MagicOS 9 based on Android 15, and supports 5G, WiFi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0.
On the imaging side, it sports a triple setup consisting of a 50MP main sensor, a 64MP periscope telephoto lens, as well as a 50MP wide-angle camera. For the selfie enthusiasts, both the exterior and interior screens feature a 20MP unit in a punch-hole cutout.
The Magic V5 also comes with improved multitasking features, such as the Three Split Screen mode and HONOR Share. The latter allows users to easily transfer files between their devices, including those using iOS and macOS.
The HONOR Magic V5 comes in four colours, which include Ivory White, Dawn Gold, Silk Brown, and Black. The phone is available for pre-orders until 24 July 2025 from the brand’s official website, as well as its e-commerce platforms on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.
To sweeten the deal, the brand is also offering free gifts worth up to RM3,497 to those pre-ordering the Magic V5, which includes a Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 9 premium speaker worth RM1,299. The phone also comes with a Worry-Free 1-Year Crack Protection and a 2-Year Quality Assurance plan. For those looking to trade in their old devices for the Magic V5, the company’s trade in program runs until 31 August 2025.
