HONOR Malaysia previously said that the Magic V5 will be launched locally “very soon”, but now the company has locked in a specific date for when that’s happening. Alongside said date, the company has also shared a handful of items from the foldable’s spec sheet, which matches neither prior leaks nor the model that launched in its home market.
To start, the brand says that the HONOR Magic V5 model that’s making its way to our shores will come with a 5,820 mAh battery, which in turn has 66W wired nd 50W wireless charging support. This will be paired with the in-house E2 chip for better power efficiency, with which the company “Guarantees a full day of uninterrupted performance”. The company also makes a big deal of its thinness which, while justified, goes a tad too far by comparing it to a 50 sen coin.

Also shared ahead of the launch one of the cameras on the HONOR Magic V5. One of the cameras featured is a 64MP periscope telephoto camera, but the brand stopped short of providing an optical zoom feature. In its place is a much less meaningful 100x digital zoom. Being propped around it is a bunch of AI features, from the aforementioned digital zoom to editing tools. Wrapping it all up though is an IP59 rating, which is so far the highest rating for a foldable device.
At any rate, more will be revealed when the HONOR Magic V5 officially launches on 15 July. The company says that the launch will also be livestreamed to its Facebook page at 2PM.
