Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has debuted the all-new Santa Fe for the Malaysian market today. The mid-size SUV comes with a starting price of RM225,000. Furthermore, this marks HMY’s first launch since the automaker made its presence in Malaysia. The Santa Fe is offered in three variants – Prime, Prestige and Calligraphy – in which Prime and Prestige are offered as a hybrid while the latter is offered as an internal combustion.

In terms of design, the H-design theme is prominently showcased on the exterior, beginning with distinctive H-shaped headlights and a sculpted front bumper that blend seamlessly into the dark chrome-finished radiator grille. The design continuity extends to the rear, where matching H-shaped taillights and a similarly styled rear fascia reinforce the motif. A sleek, hidden rear wiper adds a touch of minimalism and refinement to the overall design.

The H-design language is also integrated in the cabin. It can be seen starting with the ambient lighting around the panoramic curved display with dual 12.3-inch screens for the digital cluster and infotainment system. The theme can also be seen on the dashboard and the air vents.

Furthermore, the cabin features a first-in-class UV-C sanitiser tray for added hygiene and a dual wireless charging system. A bilateral multi-console design allows easy access for both front and rear occupants. Key features include the second-row Fold and Dive for the six- and seven-seater configuration. Additionally, there is a second-row relaxation mode only for the Calligraphy variant.

In terms of powertrains, the Prime and Prestige feature a 1.6 THEV engine with an output of 235 PS and 367 Nm of torque. The powertrain is supported by a 6-speed automatic gearbox and the power is sent to the front wheels of the SUV. Together it allows the SUV to reach from 0 to 100km/h in 9.2 seconds . Meanwhile, the Calligraphy comes with a 2.5 TGDi engine with an output of 281 PS and 422 Nm. It is supported by an 8-speed DCT gearbox and comes in an all-wheel-drive configuration.
