After debuting its second electric vehicle in May, Xiaomi has now officially launched the YU7 SUV in China. Available in three variants—YU7, YU7 Pro, and YU7 Max—the lineup starts at CNY253,500 (~RM149,465).

As the brand’s sophomore EV effort, the YU7 borrows several design elements from the SU7 sedan, including a closed-off front grille, signature “water drop” headlights, and distinctive X-shaped daytime running lights. For improved aerodynamics, the lighting system features a hollowed-out upper section, paired with a hollow rear spoiler and a roof-mounted LIDAR sensor.

Other notable features include flush-fitting, electric flush door handles and UWB (Ultra-Wideband) support, enabling smartphone-based keyless entry and boot access. Additionally, the YU7 has 10 through-flow air channels and 19 optimised vents.

Inside the YU7, the dashboard features a 1.1-metre panoramic “HyperVision” display, comprising three Mini-LED screens with a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. This expansive setup, powered by the high-performance NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor chip, acts as the central interface for all vehicle functions.

Furthermore, buyers can opt for “zero-gravity” seats upholstered in Nappa leather, which recline up to 123 degrees and offer built-in massage functions. Rear passengers are treated to electrically adjustable lounge seats that recline up to 135 degrees.

For an added touch of luxury, the YU7 can be equipped with a 4.6-litre built-in fridge capable of both cooling and heating. Rounding off the premium experience is a 25-speaker sound system with Dolby Atmos, delivering immersive, high-fidelity audio throughout the cabin.

As mentioned above the YU7 comes in three, starting with the base trim that comes in rear-wheel drive. It has a single motor paired with a 96.3kWh LFP battery (835 km CLTC range). It produces 235kW and 528Nm of torque, completing the century sprint in 5.58s and has a top speed of 240km/h.

The Pro model comes in a dual motor setup and all-wheel drive configuration. It also features a 96.3kWh LFP battery (770 km CLTC range). It produces 365 kW and 690 Nm of torque, slashing the 0–100 km/h time to just 4.27 seconds, with a top speed of 240km/h.

As for the Max variant, it also comes with a dual motor that is paired with 101.7kWh NCM battery (760km CLTC range). With an output of 508kW and 866Nm it goes from 0 to 100km/h in 3.23 seconds and has a top speed of 253km/h.

The YU7 is powered by V6s Plus motors, operating on Xiaomi’s 800-volt platform. This enables ultra-fast 5.2C charging, delivering up to 620km of additional range in just 15 minutes or a 10–80% recharge in only 12 minutes for the Max and 21 minutes for the YU7 and YU7 Pro.

In terms of safety, all models come standard with LiDAR and a 4D millimetre-wave radar to support the company’s advanced assisted driving system. The vehicle’s “Armor-Cage” body uses a combination of high-strength steel and aluminium alloys, including a 2,200 MPa ultra-high-strength steel roll cage.

The battery packs are themselves armoured with bulletproof coating. For added convenience and security, the YU7 features extensive integration with Apple’s ecosystem, allowing an iPhone to function as a UWB digital key. The “XiaoAI” voice assistant can even be used from outside the car to perform tasks like opening the boot or checking the weather.
