vivo has officially launched the newest addition to its budget-friendly Y29 lineup of smartphones, the Y29t 5G. As one would expect by the name, the Y29t shares some similarities with the vivo Y29, with a few differences like battery capacity.
The entry-level smartphone features a 6.74-inch 1600×720px LCD display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. Other than that, the device gets a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security, as well as an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance and SGS 5-star certification for durability.
Internally, the Y29t runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset paired with either 6 GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, or 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Powering the smartphone is a 6,000mAh battery with support for 15W charging. For software, it gets Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15. As for connectivity, it supports 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC.
On the imaging side, it features a dual setup comprising a 50MP main sensor and a 0.08MP auxiliary lens. Meanwhile, for the selfie enthusiasts, the device gets a 5MP front snapper, which is a slight downgrade from the Y29’s 8MP lens.

The vivo Y29t 5G comes in Titanium Gold and Jade Green, and is available for free through postpaid plans offered by U Mobile and CelcomDigi. The telcos list the price of the 6GB+128GB variant as RM899 and the 8GB+256GB configuration as RM1,099. At the time of writing, the brand has not made it clear whether the phone will be available through other means.
