When you see a new announcement by Kaspersky, you probably expect to see either a new anti-virus or internet security software package, or reports of vulnerabilities cybercriminals have been using. An eSIM Store is probably the last thing anyone expected, and yet here we are, with the Russian brand unveiling just that.
As the name suggests, the Kaspersky eSIM Store is where you go to get mobile plans for over 150 countries around the world – Malaysia included, offering over 2,000 plans. You can search for eSIM plans based on destination, including if your trip involves multiple countries, as well as plans that are active for a fixed period, or ones that remain active for as long as you still have remaining mobile data. Basic stuff so far.

But probably the best feature here is the ability to determine when your plan actually starts by scheduling its activation, rather than it activating the moment you buy it. The Kaspersky eSIM Store also provides real-time data usage monitoring to tell you if you’re close to using up all your mobile data. When that happens, quick top-ups are accessible from the user profile.
This comes slightly over three months after Touch ‘n Go Digital announced a similar feature for the TNG eWallet, in partnership with Airalo. According to this recent announcement, the Kaspersky eSIM Store is launched in partnership with BNESIM Limited instead. You can get it from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, or even its own dedicated web page. Naturally you’ll need a phone tat takes eSIMs in the first place.
