When the POCO F7 series was first launched back in March, the range was revealed to only consist of the Pro and Ultra models. Then rumours of the base model launching in May started circulating. Things have clearly not panned out the way the rumours said they would, but the brand’s official social media channel have confirmed that the base model will be launching near the end of this month instead.
Said confirmation comes via the brand’s official Facebook page, noting that it will be an online event. It’s set to happen on 24 June, and at 8PM local time. As part of the teaser campaign leading up to the launch, the brand also confirms that the base model POCO F7 will be armed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8S Gen 4 chipset.

Prior rumours have pointed at the device being very similar, if not an outright rebadging of the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro. Beyond the chipset mentioned earlier, the phone is also expected to have a 6.83-inch OLED screen, up to 16GB of memory and up to 1TB of storage. Powering the device is said to be a 7,550 mAh battery with 90W charging. That being the case, Amanz reports that the POCO F7 is expected to get a slightly smaller battery, rated at 6,500 mAh instead.
Whether any of this pans out, we’ll know for sure next week, now that the company has locked in a launch date for the device. The Pro model’s starting price of RM2,299 may also be an indication as to where the base POCO F7 which be priced at.
