Alleged Top-Tier Intel “Nova Lake-S” Desktop CPU May Feature 52-Cores

That's 16 P-Cores, 32 E-Cores, and four LP E-Cores, supposedly.

Intel’s next generation Nova Lake-S desktop CPU lineup will reportedly feature a top-of-the-line Core Ultra 9 with a ridiculous number of cores beneath the hood. Specifically, as many as 52 cores, if you can believe it.

The source of the rumour comes from chi11eddog, who posted what is believed to be the entire suite of next-gen Nova Lake-S, or 16th Gen, Core Ultra processors. Interestingly, the list also includes two Core Ultra 3 CPUs, an SKU that first launched with the current Core Ultra 200 Series lineup.

At the bottom of the ladder, ther lowest-tier Nova Lake-S Core Ultra 3 features four P-Cores, four E-Cores, and four LP E-Cores, the “LP” meaning lower power. At the top of the list, the Core Ultra 9 is listed as having 16 P-Cores, 32 E-Cores, and four LP E-Cores. Put that all together, that’s a total of 52 cores in a single die package.

Like Arrow Lake-S, it is likely that the alleged 52-core Nova Lake-S CPU, and all the other CPUs, for that matter, won’t have hyperthreading, since Intel decided to ditch the technology for power and performance reasons. Basically, what you see is what you get.

As for when Nova Lake-S will launch, we’re only likely to see the lineup by next year, at the earliest. As it stands, we’re still waiting for Intel’s Arrow Lake-S refresh, which is will be launching later this year, and more specifically, sometime in the fourth quarter.
