For the past week, either Nintendo or SIRIM have been taking us for a ride with the former’s Switch 2-related accessories being listed on the latter’s database, but not the main unit itself. Now though that has finally changed, as we finally see the Nintendo Switch 2 being listed in the database.
Oddly enough, the database shows that the main device has gotten its approval all the way back in early May. It’s unclear what caused the delay in the listing being made publicly searchable, and while we could speculate, we haven’t gotten any satisfactory inferences.

Judging from the listing, it looks like the two distributors of the Nintendo Switch 2 have put the device through the screening process at different times. Though those of you who have been observing the situation unfold as we have will notice that the listing with the more recent approval dates are the ones that have appeared in the publicly searchable listing first, for whatever reason.
At any rate though, the Nintendo Switch 2 itself being listed in SIRIM means that we can expect another announcement from the company’s SEA arm sometime soon. People familiar with the matter have also shared as much, short of providing an exact date. Considering the timeline, it may be a bit of a rush, but we may still be able to make the 26 June launch date that the other three countries in the region got.
