Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Watch8 series alongside the Galaxy Z foldables at an Unpacked event next month. Of course, rumours and leaks have surfaced not only for the phones, but the smartwatches as well. One of the recent leaks includes renders of all the models in the lineup.
The renders feature three smartwatches: the Watch8, the Watch8 Classic, and a new Ultra. Based on these renders, it seems like the company is going for a more unified look across the series, while still keeping each model distinct. One thing the wearables all have in common is the “squircle” body, which is essentially a square with the edges rounded off.
Samsung has used this design in the past for the Ultra, and it seems that the company is adopting the angular look for the rest of the Watch8 series, although it is less obvious on the base model. It is speculated that the vanilla Watch8 will come in two sizes, just like the Watch7. Additionally, the leak shows a new blue colourway for the Ultra. Beyond that, it remains visually similar to last year’s version.
As for the Watch8 Classic, this leak pretty much lines up with a previous one, so there is nothing surprising here. The watch recently showed up in a listing on ebay, with live images showing its design from multiple angles, along with shots depicting its charger and the pairing process.
At the time of writing, Samsung has not confirmed any details regarding the Watch8 series, although it has begun teasing the upcoming foldables. The company has also yet to announce a date for the Unpacked event, but we can probably expect to learn more soon.
