The Proton eMAS 5 was recently spotted on public roads near Da Men Mall at USJ 1, Subang Jaya. Photos of the upcoming EV was shared by automotive website paultan.org, crediting its reader Syed Abdul Wafi as the contributor.
As expected, the car is fully decked in camouflage, however the wheel design seems to be visible. The car features four-spoke designed wheels which is similar to the Geely Star Wish.

The eMAS 5 was first unveiled at the recent Malaysia Auto Show (MAS 2025) and is slated for launch by the end of this year. The vehicle itself showcased a rounded exterior design, sweptback headlamps, and a distinctive C-pillar styling.
While Proton has yet to reveal the interior, it is expected to mirror elements seen in the Geely Wish, featuring a dual-cowl dashboard, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It also has Anticipated features also are the power-adjustable front seats, vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, and a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), such as autonomous emergency braking and lane departure warning.
In terms of powertrain, using the original Geely model as reference, it is expected to feature a 79PS and 116PS motor. The first is powered by a 30.12kWh battery with 310km CLTC range while the latter is powered by 40.16kWh battery that offers 410kn of CLTC range. Since, Proton is also being tight-lipped about the powertrain, we can expect to get one of it or maybe even both.
As mentioned above, the Proton eMAS 5 is set to make its debut by the end of the year. As for the pricing, it is expected to be lower than the eMAS 7.
