Samsung is teasing an all-new Ultra variant as part of its upcoming Galaxy Z Fold7 line-up, expected to debut later this year. However, beyond confirming its impending arrival, the company has yet to reveal much about the device.
The teaser includes a short animation that appears to feature the Ultra model. It shows a foldable that’s impressively thin with curvier edges, though that’s about all we get. It’s hard to say whether this version is larger than the base model, but given Samsung’s track record with its Ultra-branded devices, that seems likely.
“With industry-leading hardware, cutting-edge performance and seamless AI integration optimised for the foldable format, it’s what users have come to expect from Galaxy Ultra,” Samsung said in its announcement. “And when it unfolds, it transforms – into a more immersive entertainment hub, a spacious workspace, or a multitasking powerhouse, now enhanced by powerful Galaxy AI features designed specifically for the foldable form.”
In short, the Ultra is expected to pack more advanced tech and an abundance of Galaxy AI features. As for how it will differ from the standard Fold beyond size, that remains to be seen. While Samsung hasn’t confirmed a date, its second major Unpacked event of the year is expected to take place in August 2025.

It’s also worth noting that this Ultra model should not be confused with the rumoured tri-fold smartphone, reportedly known as the “Galaxy G Fold”. That device, said to rival Huawei’s Mate XT, is believed to be launching sometime in early 2026.
