Boost Bank has announced a pretty unlikely partnership in introducing savings benefits to its users. Previously, the partnership resulted in the CelcomDigi Jar. This time it’s with Tenaga Nasional Berhad for – you guessed it – the TNB Jar.
As part of the partnership, the companies are offering the daily equivalent of 3.5% per annum interest. Accessing the TNB jar that offers this involves simply paying at least RM50 on your electricity bill using either the Boost Wallet or debit card. After that, you can deposit any amount into the jar and benefit from the interest.
This promotional interest rate is open to both new and existing Boost Bank customers. That being said, you can only unlock the TNB Jar between 4 June and 31 August. And to keep it open, you have to keep up the aforementioned minimum RM50 electricity bill payment. Fail to keep up the process, and the TNB jar will be deactivated, with all funds, including earned interest, being sent to the savings account.

There’s also the bonus of RM3 cashback campaign, once again for electricity bills of at least RM50 being paid, but this time it’s limited to the Boost Wallet being the payment method. This can be used to offset the next bill, but each customer can only claim the cashback twice, and it’s limited to the first 5,000 customers. This offer also ends earlier, on 31 July.
You can find out more about each of these promos by Boost Bank and TNB by visiting the FAQ pages, linked below. Though expect some overlap on the latter offer, as it does not require a Boost Bank account.
