BMW has refreshed the i4 lineup for 2025, introducing the new i4 M60 xDrive as the range-topping variant, replacing the outgoing i4 M50. This update is part of BMW’s broader summer 2025 rolling updates for the entire i4 Gran Coupé range.
Notably, all variants now feature new silicon-carbide inverters, which the automaker claims reduce energy consumption by 4.5%. hanks to this improvement, the WLTP range for the updated i4 eDrive35 and eDrive40 has increased to 428 km and 510 km, respectively.
Focusing on the i4 M60 xDrive, the new fmodel features an upgraded version of the dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain found in the outgoing M50. It now produces 593 horsepower, which is 56 hp more than the M50 and 50 hp more than the BMW M4 CS—the most powerful street-legal petrol-wered 4 Series.
The car is mounted with the same 81.1kWh battery pack form the M50. However, according to BMW, the i4 M60 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds, while offering an estimated WLTP range of 433km on a full charge.
Visually, the i4 M60 xDrive remains largely unchanged, with only subtle design cues—such as the M60 badge and standard M-specific trim—to distinguish it from other i4 variants. Moreover, the production of the M60 is set to begin July this year with a price tag of EUR72,900 (~RM348.809).
As part of BMW’s Summer 2025 update, several other models also receive enhancements. The new 1 Series and 2 Series Gran Coupé now come standard with heated front seats and an alarm system, while the 7 Series gains laminated safety glass for improved cabin insulation and security. Meanwhile, the X5 M Competition and its X6 M Competition counterpart now offer a new Ultimate Package, which adds carbon fiber accents and raises the top speed limiter to 290 km/h.
